At Bright Dawn Foundation, we believe that proper nutrition is an essential ingredient for effective learning. That’s why we’re proud to offer a comprehensive school meal program that includes breakfast and lunch for all our students. But our program is about more than just providing food – it’s about promoting health, community, and education.

Each morning, our students start the day with a hearty breakfast, fueling their bodies and minds for the day ahead. Then, come lunchtime, they’re served a nutritious and delicious meal that not only satisfies their hunger but also supports their overall health and well-being.

At the heart of our program is our school garden, where we grow a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. Our students play an active role in maintaining the garden, learning about the process of growing food from seed to harvest. They take great pride in heading out to the garden to pick the fresh produce that will later be used in cooking their meals. This gives them a hands-on understanding of where their food comes from and the importance of fresh, nutritious ingredients.

We’ve found that involving students in this process not only provides them with valuable knowledge and skills, but it also encourages them to make healthier food choices. Plus, there’s nothing quite like the satisfaction of eating a meal made with ingredients you’ve grown yourself!

Our school meal program is just one of the ways we’re working to provide a holistic education for our students at Bright Dawn Foundation. We’re committed to supporting the well-being of our students in every way possible – because we know that healthy, well-nourished students are better-equipped to learn, grow, and reach their full potential.

There’s something magical about the smell of freshly baked cookies wafting through the air. This magic was recently captured at Nong Kra Toom School, where our students embarked on a delightful culinary journey – baking and decorating their own cookies.

The two-part lesson started with a hands-on experience in mixing, kneading, and baking cookies. This wasn't just a fun activity, but also a great learning opportunity. It taught students about measurements, following instructions, and the importance of teamwork. The joy and satisfaction on their faces as they watched their creations come out of the oven were priceless.

Part two of the lesson was all about creativity and patience. Students got to decorate cookies with colorful icing, sprinkles, and lots of imagination. This activity allowed them to express their individual creativity while also learning about precision and the value of a job well done. The result? A batch of beautifully decorated cookies that were almost too pretty to eat.

These sessions were more than just about baking. They were about teaching practical life skills, fostering creativity, and promoting teamwork. And of course, they were about the sheer joy of creating (and eating!) something delicious.

At the Bright Dawn Foundation, we believe in the power of experiential learning. It's a wonderful way to make education fun, engaging, and meaningful. And if it involves cookies, it's even better!

The skies may have been grey, but the spirits were high at our recent sports day, Bright Dawn Games 2024. The event was a testament to the power of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and the sheer joy of competition.

Hosted by the wonderful Nong Kra Toom school, the day saw fierce yet friendly competition among five schools. Despite the weather, the enthusiasm of the students and their supporters was palpable, creating an atmosphere of excitement and anticipation.

From the thrilling athletic events to the cheering crowds, every moment was a celebration of youth, energy, and potential.

Congratulations to the overall winners, Nong Hieng School. Their dedication, discipline, and sportsmanship shone through, earning them a well-deserved victory.

Silpakorn University Agricultural Department recently extended their expertise and support to Nong Kra Toom School, assisting them in installing a solar cell system for watering their gardens. This initiative showcases the commitment of Silpakorn University to community development and sustainability, as they find a low-cost solution to aid the school's market garden. With this project, the university not only enhances the educational experience of the students but also promotes environmental consciousness within the community.

The market garden at Nong Kra Toom School serves as an essential learning space for students, nurturing their understanding of agriculture, ecology, and sustainable practices. By engaging in hands-on activities, the students develop valuable skills that can be applied in their future endeavors. However, the lack of a reliable water supply posed a significant challenge to the development and maintenance of the garden, hindering its potential for growth.

Recognizing the potential impact of a reliable water supply on the agricultural activities at Nong Kra Toom School, Silpakorn University Agricultural Department stepped in to offer their expertise. With their extensive knowledge in renewable energy and sustainable solutions, the university team designed and implemented a solar cell system that effectively addressed the water scarcity issue.

The installation of the solar cell system by Silpakorn University Agricultural Department at Nong Kra Toom School is a remarkable example of how academic expertise and community collaboration can create positive change. We are so excited to share with you all the incredible day we had at the Bright Dawn English Camp at Navy Phirom! This event brought together five schools and provided a fantastic opportunity for kids to not only have a blast but also improve their English skills. It was truly a day filled with fun and learning!

From the moment the kids arrived, the energy was contagious. They were eager to participate in various activities designed to enhance their English language proficiency. The camp featured exciting English games that not only entertained the children but also helped them practice their language skills in a playful setting. Additionally, interactive activities allowed the kids to engage with one another and build their confidence in speaking English. It was amazing to witness their growth and enthusiasm throughout the day.

We want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to K. Nace and all the teachers and staff who dedicated their time and effort to organize this incredible event. Their commitment to education and passion for fostering English language skills among children is truly commendable. Thanks to their tireless work, we were able to come together for an unforgettable English day.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to the amazing volunteers who graciously helped us out throughout the day. Hua Hin School - English Program, Green Lion, XploreAsia, K. Am, Denis, Peter, and Sandy. We cannot thank you enough for your invaluable assistance in making this camp possible. Your dedication and support are truly appreciated.

But the real winners of the day were, of course, the kids. Their smiles, laughter, and pure joy were contagious. They embraced every opportunity for personal and academic growth, and it was an absolute pleasure to witness their excitement. We are confident that this English camp has left a lasting impact on their language skills and will serve as a stepping stone for their future success.

We want to thank everyone involved in making this event a huge success. It was a truly memorable day, and we are grateful for the opportunity to bring English language education to these bright young minds. Let's continue to foster a love for learning and provide them with the tools they need to excel in their academic journey.

It was a great day when our annual Bright Dawn Games resumed after a 4-year absence due to COVID restrictions. It's so wonderful for the children to have the opportunity to come together, learn team spirit and sportsmanship, and compete in a variety of sports. We're so glad to have the Bright Dawn Games back and to be able to offer this amazing experience to all five schools!

The morning kicked off with a fun and festive parade, full of kids, marching bands, and bright colors, followed by a beautiful display of traditional Thai dancing. After that, it was time to get down to the games!

Congrats to K.Ome and his team for a great day at Nong Kra school providing a fun and enjoyable experience for all. It was especially heartwarming to see so many parents in attendance. Special congratulations to Nong Kra Toom school, the overall winners of the event. 

As part of our creative club, Cathrine, a regular visitor from Sweden taught the children how to make friendship bracelets.

The children quickly picked up the idea and started by drawing designs for their bracelets. As you can see from some of the finished bracelets we have a few budding designers amongst us.

Hua Hin International Year 12 students have visited Nong Kra Toom school, to help some students with their English reading, as part of their community and social curriculum. 

There was excitement and nerves on both sides but after some ice breaking activities, they got down to one on one reading which went down a storm.

Everybody enjoyed themselves so much we are hoping it will become a regular event.
