We are absolutely thrilled to present an exhilarating experience from our YouTube channel - Football Coaching with Gary Stevens at Wang Both and Nong Hieng Schools!

Gary Stevens visited our schools and shared his invaluable knowledge with our budding footballers. A former English professional footballer, Gary had an illustrious career with Everton and Rangers, and he also earned 46 caps for the England national team. His football journey is a source of inspiration for our students.

In these coaching sessions, Gary combined his professional expertise with an engaging approach that captivated our students. The sessions were filled with laughter, energy, and an atmosphere of pure joy as the children learned new techniques and strategies under Gary's expert guidance. They undoubtedly had a blast!

We are immensely grateful to Gary for spending time with our students and making a profound difference in their lives. His visit not only honed their football skills but also inspired them to dream big and pursue excellence in everything they undertake.

The skies may have been grey, but the spirits were high at our recent sports day, Bright Dawn Games 2024. The event was a testament to the power of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and the sheer joy of competition.

Hosted by the wonderful Nong Kra Toom school, the day saw fierce yet friendly competition among five schools. Despite the weather, the enthusiasm of the students and their supporters was palpable, creating an atmosphere of excitement and anticipation.

From the thrilling athletic events to the cheering crowds, every moment was a celebration of youth, energy, and potential.

Congratulations to the overall winners, Nong Hieng School. Their dedication, discipline, and sportsmanship shone through, earning them a well-deserved victory.

Making a difference at Bright Dawn Foundation. We believe in nurturing the creative abilities of the children. As part of our Creative Club, we encourage them to explore various forms of expression, including music!

Today, we are thrilled to share a video of our talented students practicing with traditional Thai instruments. Their dedication and passion shine through as they learn to create beautiful melodies and embrace the rich cultural heritage of Thailand.

Music education not only fosters creativity but also enhances cognitive skills, boosts confidence, and promotes teamwork. By embracing the power of music, we are creating well-rounded individuals who can thrive in all aspects of life. 

We are so excited to share with you all the incredible day we had at the Bright Dawn English Camp at Navy Phirom! This event brought together five schools and provided a fantastic opportunity for kids to not only have a blast but also improve their English skills. It was truly a day filled with fun and learning!

From the moment the kids arrived, the energy was contagious. They were eager to participate in various activities designed to enhance their English language proficiency. The camp featured exciting English games that not only entertained the children but also helped them practice their language skills in a playful setting. Additionally, interactive activities allowed the kids to engage with one another and build their confidence in speaking English. It was amazing to witness their growth and enthusiasm throughout the day.

We want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to K. Nace and all the teachers and staff who dedicated their time and effort to organize this incredible event. Their commitment to education and passion for fostering English language skills among children is truly commendable. Thanks to their tireless work, we were able to come together for an unforgettable English day.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to the amazing volunteers who graciously helped us out throughout the day. Hua Hin School - English Program, Green Lion, XploreAsia, K. Am, Denis, Peter, and Sandy. We cannot thank you enough for your invaluable assistance in making this camp possible. Your dedication and support are truly appreciated.

But the real winners of the day were, of course, the kids. Their smiles, laughter, and pure joy were contagious. They embraced every opportunity for personal and academic growth, and it was an absolute pleasure to witness their excitement. We are confident that this English camp has left a lasting impact on their language skills and will serve as a stepping stone for their future success.

We want to thank everyone involved in making this event a huge success. It was a truly memorable day, and we are grateful for the opportunity to bring English language education to these bright young minds. Let's continue to foster a love for learning and provide them with the tools they need to excel in their academic journey.

It was a great day when our annual Bright Dawn Games resumed after a 4-year absence due to COVID restrictions. It's so wonderful for the children to have the opportunity to come together, learn team spirit and sportsmanship, and compete in a variety of sports. We're so glad to have the Bright Dawn Games back and to be able to offer this amazing experience to all five schools!

The morning kicked off with a fun and festive parade, full of kids, marching bands, and bright colors, followed by a beautiful display of traditional Thai dancing. After that, it was time to get down to the games!

Congrats to K.Ome and his team for a great day at Nong Kra school providing a fun and enjoyable experience for all. It was especially heartwarming to see so many parents in attendance. Special congratulations to Nong Kra Toom school, the overall winners of the event. 

The International Series has once again chosen the Bright Dawn Foundation to be the benefactor of its CSR initiative in Thailand as competition gets under way at Black Mountain Golf Club today.

The Thai children’s charity has now received US$50,000 from The International Series, which launched in Thailand in 2022, with this year’s cheque handed over by the Asian Tour’s Commissioner & CEO, Cho Minn Thant.

Bright Dawn’s mission is to improve the lives of low-income Thai children around rural Hua Hin through the provision of healthcare and educational support to the primary schools they attend.

Donny Nimmo, CEO, Bright Dawn Foundation, said: “Our gratitude towards everyone involved in selecting us as beneficiaries cannot be overstated – this is a significant sum that will vastly improve the lives of the children in our care. Getting this money from the Asian Tour is honestly a godsend.”

Set up 13 years ago, the charity now supports 700 children across five schools. This week’s donation of US$25,000 will support ongoing healthcare and education programs, including annual medicals and provision of eye tests and glasses to those who need them.

The educational program is specifically focused around practical skills for use in later life, and includes speaking and reading in English and Thai, plus the provision of computers for IT skills including coding.

Nimmo added: “We are looking more at agriculture, cradle to grave, with market gardens and a fishpond. They grow fruit and vegetables, which the kids see the lifespan of from planting through to being served in the school canteens. Anything we think can be used as a practical vocational skill.”

The foundation is also now involved in what it calls ‘special projects’, building libraries, reading rooms, first aid rooms, outdoor gyms and classrooms, where necessary, at each of the schools.

The International Series comprises of 10 enhanced Asian Tour events at world class venues, featuring elevated prize funds, and welcoming golfing talent from every continent and tour.

Committed to the communities of the places it visits, The International Series’ CSR initiative offers US$25,000 to a broad range of initiatives targeting education, environmental sustainability, golf development programs, and the well-being of communities in the short and long term.

The ground-breaking series will visit a further seven countries following Thailand, with its aim to donate to local causes to help further the development of each region.

Cho Minn Thant, Commissioner & CEO of the Asian Tour, said: “It’s hugely important for us at the Asian Tour and The International Series to be able to contribute to the communities that support us.

“The Asian Tour has been coming to Black Mountain for the last decade. In fact the first tournament here was in 2009. We visit Hua Hin on a regular basis. We have several tournaments per year here, we host qualifying school here and to give back to the community that supports us so much over the years is fantastic.

“It’s really good for us to visit the school and see what they do with our own two eyes. To see the kids in the school in the playground, learning how to use computers, seeing the facilities that have been provided through the Bright Dawn Foundation is remarkable. It’s a great initiative and it’s great for us to be here.”

Thank you very much. It is a great honour for us to be the Asian Tour’s chosen charity partner in Hua Hin, and a personal thank you to those involved in choosing us.

This incredibly generous donation is a very significant amount of money for Bright Dawn.

Our focus remains healthcare and practical education for about 700 kids from lower income families in the five primary schools we support in Hua Hin.

We believe your donation makes a real difference and goes a long way towards improving and hopefully changing these kids’ lives.

We offer, as our motto suggests, a hand up, not a handout.

Of course, none of it would even be possible without the Bright Dawn team, Jill, Mike, Nita, Nace, Opal and Jang of whom I am always in awe.

We also have a fantastic and loyal group of donors, but this is even more welcome at a time when donation income can be so variable due to the current global economic climate.
